The Pako Festa is the largest free multicultural event in Australia, held in Geelong. Attracting thousands of people, the event has a parade, performances, cultural food, workshops, art and craft exhibitions, street performers and a range of free activities for children.
This year, I only had enough time to photograph the parade. Click on the slideshow link to see a series of photos from Pako 2010.

Wyndham City Council’s “Sounds in the Wynd” is a free Summer Music Festival held over 3 weeks in Wyndham’s local parks at Wyndhamvale, Taneit & Point Cook.
Aimed at families in the community, adults and children enjoyed music, face painting and jumpting castles.
Below are some photos from the Point Cook event, staring local acts “The Rifters” and Eshak Awi and the headline act from Beatles Tribute band, “Rubber Soul“.

SLAM (Save Live Australian Music) Rally was a peaceful protest, held in Melbourne this afternoon.
With an estimated crowd of 70,000 strong, the people protested that live music will no longer be an automatic trigger for high risk conditions on many liquor licenses.
They marched with their instruments singing ‘LONG WAY TO THE TOP’ from Melbourne State Library down Swanston and Bourke St to Spring Street
Snapshot of some photos below and the full set can be viewed here
